Health Care Provider Toolkit

This toolkit supports health care providers (e.g. public health nurses and student nurses) in teaching the How to Handle Your Vaccines Like a Champ and the Good Medicine: Vaccines Through Indigenous Teachings and Storytelling lessons in the schools they are connected to.

The two lessons help prepare students for immunization day by teaching them about vaccines and how to use the CARD system to have a positive immunization experience. The goal of the lesson is to increase students' knowledge of the importance of vaccines, give students strategies to have a better immunization experience, and ultimately increase immunization rates.
