This Indigenous Teachings activity explores the medicinal and symbolic significance of wild strawberries, also known as “heart berries”.  A student response activity asks questions about medicinal properties, the connection to females, and the important role of the grandmother. 

The goal of this document is for teachers to create a learning community with their students, enjoy the teachings, and incorporate them into class discussions or learning activities.
