Lesson Plan (Grades 4-12): Students Anxious About Getting The COVID-19 (and other) Vaccines? Help Is Here!
In many places, the COVID-19 vaccine is now being offered to children 12 years and older. This lesson plan has been co-developed by teachers and health experts to provide lessons and activities that help students discuss thoughts and manage anxieties around the COVID-19 vaccine (and other vaccines if needed). This allows students to explore their curiosity, or help them manage concerns they might have for themselves, their family, as well as friends or others.
Age-appropriate activities, lessons, worksheets have been designed for:
- Grades 4-6
- Grades 7-9
- Grades 10-12
Students activate learning through a brainstorming activity related to anxiety in general and discussion about the COVID-19 vaccine. They acquire knowledge by completing KBI lessons along with supporting worksheets and resources. Students apply their learning by developing a creative presentation related to the COVID-19 vaccine.
All activities and worksheets include answer guides or assessment criteria to use/adapt as needed..
